Senior Quant Researcher

IRON KEY CAPITAL || SENIOR QUANT RESEARCHER

Iron Key is seeking a Senior Quant Researcher to join its systematic crypto investing efforts. As a Senior Quant Researcher at Iron Key, you will work closely with our investing and infrastructure teams to identify, research and implement alpha signals into models with the purpose of generating attractive risk-adjusted returns in an ethical manner. The role will be intimately involved in the investment process from day 1 and will have ample room to grow in scope and responsibility over time, including sole discretion over the capital.

 

Requirements (technical):

  • Graduate degree strongly preferred in statistics, engineering, applied math, computer science or other quantitative field with a strong foundation in statistics. Will consider other educational backgrounds if work experience is strong enough.

  • 5+ years of work experience in financial services. Buy-side experience strongly preferred.

  • Extensive hands-on experience using programming skills to manipulate large financial data sets for empirical research, backtesting, optimization and implementation.

  • Strong skills in one or more high-level languages like C++/C#, Python and SQL.

  • Strong command of foundations of applied and theoretical statistics, linear algebra and vector manipulation.

  • Understanding of the nuances and pitfalls of common models and modeling approaches, such as analyzing time series-based data vs. other types.

  • Ability to scrub, format, and manipulate large raw data sources to conduct independent research quickly and efficiently.

  • Experience with front-end data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).

  • Familiarity with data science toolkits, such as scikit-learn and Tensorflow is preferred but not required.

  • Some ML experience is preferred.

Venture Analyst / Scout

Looking for a scrappy crypto native individual who loves researching early stage crypto companies and tokens.

Requirements for All Roles (non-technical):

  • At least some nights/weekends experience with crypto. The more the better.

  • Easy to work with – must be able to communicate with engineers and mere mortals.

  • Good listener – translate a market practitioner’s intuition into statistical analysis.

  • Tenacious – identify a problem and relentlessly work to solve it.

  • Meticulous – the little things will matter a lot in this role, and we will trust you to address them.

  • Creative – crypto statistical analysis requires comfort in open spaces while relying on past experience.

  • Bias toward action; ideas are cheap and execution is expensive
  • Fit with our culture, especially trust and openness.
